Weekly Classes
$90 per session (paid 5 weeks in advance)
There are two reasons you need to come and join David to learn about making pots (throwing) on the wheel. The first is the extensive experience David has in both teaching and making. David has been a teacher and has made pottery for more than thirty years. The second is the glorious location, in a new purpose-built studio with panoramic views to the escarpment and ocean.
There is a wide range of skills necessary to be the master of the clay on the wheel and David is the man to teach you. He learnt to make pots by repetition throwing at Florenz Pottery in Sydney. Each day he made cups, jugs, teapots, carafes etc in high numbers and it was the repetition of the same shape each day that taught him the skills he still uses today. This experience enables him to teach you the same skills.
The term follows school dates and are 10 weeks in duration. The lessons run for 2.5 hours and the classes cater for tuition, clay, enbobes, glazes and the use of all David’s tools and gas kiln.
The classes include beginners and those that have worked in clay before. Take the risk and join a class.
